Well, finally, something I know a little about!
Stripping of titles *is* a huge act. It not only sets the "accused" apart
from everyone else, it basicly forces people to chose sides - especially
when it's a Duke that gets stripped.
:coughTimcough: (just messing with you!)
In the case of my Duke, he had the power to basicly say "screw you guys, I'm
going home" and, in my opinion, if someone gets stripped with some type of
power, they should use it with utter abandon.
After all, all the Kings men can't put your title (or reputation) back
together again... especially if they're the ones who broke it in the first
place.
