That arguement only makes sense in a democracy. I know we elect our
Kings and Tyrants, but that's just for gameplay reasons, when it comes
to RP you should assume you have no power over who is ruler beyond
what you can do with your sword.  If you don't respect the
ruler/general you often can't just vote someone else in, you have to
fight them, and that involves disobeying orders.
