They aren't ordered around (by me or my character), they are however
ordered. No one is arguing in favor of treating them like "simple simons,"
and that is a strawman.

2) Stop listening to your general whine that the reason for his failure is
> this person and they need to be fined.

It's more like, this is the law in that realm, and my character will try to
uphold it. The general expects orders in his army to be obeyed, and when
they aren't there is a consequence. No whining or failure is being
discussed, that is another strawman.

3) Stop fining so damned much.

That's really up to the realm, and I in particular don't fine too much,
whatever your assumptions.

4) Unless you have a personal caring relationship with someone stop being so

I think you entirely missed my whole point with why its good to know if a
player is inactive or not. Please re-read it.

It is all excuses. Inactivity is not that big of a deal and if you can't

I can figure out bad eggs without a "freakin counter," but what I can't tell
is if it's a bad egg, or just someone who can't reply because they haven't
signed on in X amount of time. I punish bad eggs, NOT inactives - assuming
I can tell the difference between the two.
