People are talking about days, hours... But I haven't seen many exact
numbers much...
So I'll try to do that:
Currently the (army) travel speed is roughly 10 miles per hour. As for the
messages try a 500 miles per hour (Yeah, I know that such speed is not quite
realistic even for 21st century, but lel it be). The delays would not be
drastic enough to use OOC messaging but in larger realms some messages may
come a little delayed. Additionally the messages from other realms should
take 10-15 minutes more time to deliver.
The Darka-Abington (mentioned in some earlier posts) message route that is
probaly about 1500-2500 miles long would take 3-5 hours to deliver a
message. For me that seems like a fair delay for messaging to the other end
of an island. But 99% messages are to the realm mates that usually are up to
5 regions away. So most messages would come not more than an hour delayed.
As for the army movement orders, the general should be in the same region as
the rest of the army and there would be no problems at all. Yet if someone
decides to command an attack from another end of an island... I myself
woudn't vote for such a general ever again...
That's about all...
