But that can be incredibly limiting, especially if you're trying to  
keep your RP as realistic as possible.  "Well, I wanted to go visit  
him, but shucks, there's no way within the physical laws of the  
universe I can leave my men behind..."

You can also be RPing the actions of NPCs thousands of miles away,  
especially if, say, they're your squire and your at a tournament, or  
you're the King, off at a meeting or battlefield somewhere, and  
someone comes to the palace looking for you and only finds your aides.

Removing the option to RP instantaneously would destroy interactive  
RP for all but those who can be in the same region...and interactive  
RP is suffering horribly already, especially between people of  
different realms.  Doing this would most likely effectively stick a  
knife in the heart of the FEI.
