I'd tend to agree it's not fun. But what is your point? Then you don't play
Monopoly against yourself. But should that mean the rest of the world can't
play monopoly against themself should they enjoy it?

In Battlemaster, it's definately playing against more than yourself. If you
don't think it's fun to have characters in enemy realms, then don't. But
some people do find it fun, and as long as it doesn't harm YOUR fun, there
is no reason why they should be forbidden to do that.
