40%. Correct, they still have that region, but theres 16K CS of enemy troops
sitting in it who just wiped out an army of 5K on delay and wound with a
loss of less than 2k. If the local lord fllipped to , lets say, Ibladesh,
Ubent would die. They get hardly any money.

Yep. Hell, if the local lords decide to go against the duke then no city can
feed itself.

I am an even newer player. 6 months in (maybe a week over or something), and
my only position of power that I have held really is a Marshal in a
theocracy, He still gets put in all the message groups, hears all the
discussions, acts as second in command. In 2 months I have a quite powerful
position, have taken part in a successful, well RPed (it should be, this is
FEI) rebellion... It's a lot of fun. And I worked to get there. In fact, he
was going to be banker except for the prestige requirements. Now I could
have sat on my behind and not said anything, and I wouldn't have got the
position. Because I tried to be involved, I got the position. With a
different character I also threatened to lead a rebellion, got the ruler
convinced to step down by doing so. I have had great fun with one character
being kicked out of somewhere between 2-5 realms (2 definite bans, 1 ask to
leave, a couple of realm change defections), but no lordships. And from the
word go I didn't expect that character to get the positions of power.
Although I might feel a bit of injustice in some realms where nothing is
said and the same old quiet peole get the positions, it i certainly not
enough to make me say "I can't get a position, I'm leaving the game".
Frankly, anyone who thinks the game is ONLY about getting positions, and
that positions are what makes the game playable, is not someone who I really
want to play with.

Yeah. You would be referring to beign prime minister of Oli? I can imagine
that it would not be fun.

>Lordships, council positions, etc, are rewards, not rights.
Correct. And you should work for them. Get involved in the realm, talk. If
getting a position is desparately important, start a rebellion. And if it
does't work, RP your characters reactions. Go to a small realm. Get
unofficial positions. Most of all, start having fun, playing the game
forwhat it is.
Here endeth the rant of the relative newbie.

The Internet is truly a wealth of exotic and meaningful information. Each
new nugget of knowledge it brings to me makes me a little bit stupider.
