Just a few hours from now, BattleMaster will be six years old.
I won't be there for the actual anniversary, going to a party. But it
sure is a special moment. Six years is a long time. Six years of my life
and about half a dozen or so of you who have been there from the start.
It has been a wild ride, with ups and downs.
I didn't quite reach my goal for the anniversary - reducing the bug
count in the bugtracker to less then 100 - but it was close, close
enough to make me happy especially considering that many of the bugs are
direct or indirect results of new features.
More importantly, for six years now, BattleMaster has never stopped
growing, evolving, maturing. I dare say it is one of the most evolved
games on the Internet today. Not necessarily in complexity, or amount of
stuff you can do, and certainly not in number of players, but very few
of the games I know come close in maturity.
And still, as we all know, there is a lot more still to do.
