Lyman:
BM is post-gun powder actually, EC has the Hamadan Gun Powder
Artillery. Or at least they did a year ago. (Always pictured them as
large, experimental cannons.) And I remember seeing a fireworks show a
while ago too.

LilWolf:
My characters are /regularly/ fighting a genocide war against walking
corpses. If that's not 'fantasy' to you then I never want to visit
your city!

There are in fact many types of fantasy stories but the ones I'd like
to point out are: High Fantasy with elves and dragons and such, and
Swords and Sorcery, where witches brew strange potions, peasants fear
to wander the graveyard at night and otherworldly lights in the forest
call men to their deaths. Since the world of BM (which was once
Spellmaster by the way) has been declared empty of 'other races' and
all the usual trappings of High Fantasy; and yet there are any number
of zombie lords, hedge witches and inhuman monsters, it is not
unreasonable to assume that there is a touch of the fantastic about
the game. The thing to note is that in a world like this most people
go about normal lives without ever having the slightest experience
with the fanciful, and thus think those who do are raving madmen. Thus
you can have it both ways, LilWolf can declare the idea of rampaging
badgers to be madness, and Lyman can nail a horseshoe above the door
to ward off the creatures of the forest; and more importantly,
everyone can have fun doing it.
