One concern that shouldn't be an issue now but will be later on
- what if someone already with four characters (donators) have an
adventurer and manage to get him to upgrade? Then they'll have five
'noble' characters and then have the option (I assume) to create another
adventurer - it'll create a loop whereby, while unlikely, it would be
possible to create many, many characters on one account just by making
new adventurers once the last one's moved on. Or am I drastically
underestimating the time needed to get an adventurer to noble?

I think you might be. I did quite a bit of undead hunting
earlier to day and I made <drum roll> 1 silver. 1 silver? What the
heck do you do with 1 silver? Yeah starting with 1 honor and 1 prestige
and 0 gold is probably going to make for a long trip up the ladder of
nobility. I think I will love every step of it.
I sold an item for 4 gold :D
