Because Tom doesn't want to cater to incompetence.  Paraphrasing mildly, but
he's told us time and again that only the links that have an ellipses (...)
at the end will give you another page.  Creating an "are you sure" for every
action would take lots of time away from fixing bugs and implementing new
features.

- but you can just as easily hit "yes" instead of "no" when asked if you
