Yeah...I seem to recall one of my characters being out of commission
for ~2 weeks once due to a serious wound, but that was 2 years ago.
Perhaps serious wounds need to get more serious again ;-)

*That* one's easy. Well, you can't prevent them from giving orders--
but then you couldn't do that even by making them no longer King.
What you *can* do quite easily is give them a longer period in the
"recovering" status, during which they have no access to their
Command menu :-)
That will prevent seriously wounded Kings (and other seriously
wounded position holders, if you like) from doing anything
substantive with their position for quite some time, what with
seriouswound, wound, healing, and recovering.
