This assumes that it's *external* intervention thats changing the king (or 
any ruler).

What if you hire an assassin to take out your ruler so you or someone else 
could run for the position? I did this; apparently now that won't work.

How can you now make ruler turnover happen without open rebellion (apart 
from this clam the throne feature)? More to the point, how can you make it 
*less obvious* that you are forcing a ruler change?

I don't like the temporary rulers who step down when the old one is back, 
but nor do I like now essentially having permanent rulers.
