He doesn't have to do anything, Thomas.  The sooner you realize that, the
sooner you'll stop pissing him off.

Regarding the speculations themselves, there's a lot of times where people
state their opinions as fact.  If people only spoke what they knew for
certain, it would take Tom a lot less time to sort through the innaccuracies
and get to the real source of the problem.  A few examples:

"It sounds like the code has been changed", "The secession thing sounds like
an intentional change (...), whereas the rebellion thing is clearly a bug".
