Not sure what I think about the idea as a whole.  But I'll help you out.  If
it's possible to pay your way back, why would any judge allow someone to
keep their gold on hand when they're deported?  It won't happen.

If you want to press the idea, perhaps pledging family gold would be the way
to go.
