You'd think it would be possible that Dante remains king and retains DA 
as his most trusted advisor, until the former king's wounds from the 
infiltrator attack have healed, or something like that.


I've raised the penalties for stepping down very quickly considerably. 
This should take care of the next-day problems. There is a lot of 
incentive for even intermediate rulers now to hang on to the throne at 
least for a few more days. For example, the penalty for stepping down 
the day after being elected is 5 prestige and 20 honour.
