If that is not threatening then what is? Infact, if I had been in the
realm, I would on purpose recruit infantry. My character is a noble
with no one having a right to order/"request" what to recruit/not to
recruit, tagged with an "or else" clause.

And you are very wrong with the 90% of rulers do it for I have been in
quite a few realms and I have never seen this issue. Requests yes, but
threats and retribution, no!

That means that others will be given positions

It does not matter if it is permanent or temporary. I am being
threatened and I will not stand for it. And nor should anyone whose
rights are being put down.

How is this different from real life? It's not different at

I beg to disagree. I have held all council positions and in almost all
my realms, people have asked me about recruitment, attending
tournaments. And I always give one and only one answer

"It is not for me to advice you about attending a tournament/ what to
recruit." Added with.
"This and this is the situation of the realm. You can think for
yourself, and decide what you want to do. I will have absolutely no
questions about any decision you make."

And that's the end of it. If they do opposite of what I would like, so
be it. That's how the game should be played, adjusting to other
people's decisions and style and improvising on that. But never trying
to micromanage them or control them.

As I said, imo, it was wrong and that is how I stand.
