That's ok.

A lot of people who've never been in a leadership position fail to see
that when your boss says "I'd like you to..." that's just a nice
wording for an order, so even if he _means_ it as a voluntary request,
it will be _perceived_ as an order by his subordinates.

The same holds true in-game.
