It's not the being-a-knight-of-someone that's my problem.  It's the fact 
that, in order to overcome the bug and deal with the problems that that 
threw up, I accepted an oath of one character who was online and 
available at the right time.  But it makes far more sense in every way 
for my character to be aligned to his home region - the region from 
which his whole family originated.  I just want to be able to have him 
aligned to his home.

As far as I can see, the only way to do it is to step down as banker, 
then offer an oath to the lord of my choice, and then be re-appointed 
banker.  I am hoping that there's a way to solve the issue that doesn't 
involve such a farcical circumvention of game mechanics to achieve the 
perfectly resonable desired outcome.
