[Discuss] Resolution of the bug

Tom (or anyone else who knows),

Recently, the big bug caused government realm members (who don't also
have a position leading a region) to lose:
- their position
- their bonds
- their army membership

One of my characters is a banker in a realm, and he is just the banker,
not also a duke or lord. Therefore, he lost everything listed above.

In order to get any of these back, he had to swear an allegiance to
someone in the realm. As a banker of a realm with a food deficit, this
had to be done quickly in order to prevent the whole realm starving to
death.

Therefore, my character swore an allegiance to the Duke of the duchy he
started in, since that Duke was available to make the offer. This in
turn allowed the King to reappoint him, so he has regained his position.

As for the bonds, I've accepted they're not coming back, so there has
been some roleplay to explain the loss of the bonds.

But with the army membership, as far as I'm aware, the Duke is still not
able to assign my character to an army, which is frustrating. I'm not
sure why it's not possible, so:

Question 1: Why can my banker not be assigned to an army?

Also, since my character has now to be linked to a region, he'd much
rather be linked to his old home region, than the city of that duchy.
Therefore, today, being in the same region as his old liege, he
attempted to offer a 0% oath, in order to be aligned to (but not a
knight of) that region. So:

Question 2: Am I right in thinking that all government characters must
now be aligned to a particular region rather than being linked to the
King as in the past?

Question 3: Is that the right way to go about trying to select which
region he is sworn to?

And when I attempted to offer the 0%, I got this message:

"As long as you are a government member of your realm, you are a knight
of the Crown."

Question 4: Am I right in thinking that this is no longer true, because
you cannot get knights of the crown or of the duchy any more, only of a
region?

Question 5: If the answer to Q4 is "yes", then why do I get this message?

Alternatively, ignore all the above questions and just answer question 6:

Question 6: How can my banker character get back into the army he was
in, and be aligned to the realm of his choice?
