I had written a long and boring mail with some programming
suggestions, like that peer option for names too, etc. But there is
something simple that can help people see it right the first time they
login.

After reading twice what you get to create your family name and
character name, I have a suggestion to make:

1st. Put a clear link to the wiki page about naming. Blue stuff get
more attention than text.

2nd. More than on eof my friends said they wouldn't bothering reading
the few lines of text you have there. For those, I'd suggest changing
what shows on the button. Instead of:

"This is not your actual, real-life family name, it is the name for
your characters in-game.

BOX [Start your family]"

Could do with:

"This is not your actual, real-life family name, it is the name for
your characters in-game.

Your medieval last-name: BOX [Start your family]"

I think it is a small change that could make a big difference.
Also, players messaging new players can help a lot.
