When a situation like this comes up, there are two questions you should ask 
yourself:

1. Is this how these characters would act if each were a real person living in 
the BattleMaster universe, rather than a character I control?

2. Is this how these characters would act if they were played by separate 
people?

If the answer to either question isn't a firm "Yes", then you probably 
shouldn't do whatever you were planning to do.

If you do decide to go forward, it would probably be a good idea to write a  
roleplay of the situation which is both plausible and consistent with the 
prior actions of your characters.
