What part of that last line don't you people understand? It's right
there, in the game. But maybe that's just in a Tyranny...let's check
a Monarchy:
You are currently
* a member of Wetham
* a noble of Wetham
* a knight of Asker
As such, you owe allegiance first and foremost to your local lord.

Oh, there it is again, local lord! Well, let's check out a Theocracy:
You are currently
* a member of Sartania
* a noble of Nocaneb
* a knight of Athios
As such, you owe allegiance first and foremost to your local lord.

Well, I think that pretty much settles it. Note that in each of the
above statements, the one at the bottom takes precedence. And each of
my characters is in an army, and the third is even SIC.
You obey your liege's orders first, since he gives you money. You
follow your Marshal's orders second, since your liege told you to
listen to him in your spare time. If you're very religious, then you
may follow your priest's orders, but realize that your liege is the
one you gives you gold. Your liege is the one you swore an oath to.
It's hard to explain that in today's society, full of divorce and
contract renegotiations, but you gave your very word of honor--all XX
points of it--that you would obey your liege's orders to the best of
your ability.
