I don't have an issue with there only being ten minutes a day of stuff
to do. The issue is that the ten minutes of stuff is, for my simple
knights, almost all 10 minutes of boring stuff. I would like ten
minutes of interesting stuff to do.

Another way to look at it is this: the options are good options if,
while I am away from the computer, they give me something that I can
plan/think-about. A General can plan strategies. A Marshal can plan
tactics. A Ruler can consider diplomatic options. A Lord can decide
how much to tax people, and what to do with the money. A Knight can...

There are a few ways to end that sentence that people have suggested
(thanks for the ideas, those that have). The problem with many of them
is that they are very underhand types of things - spying, lying,
generally causing trouble. Which is not something that a nice-mannered
noble would do. Do we all have to play conniving nasty people just to
make things interesting?

The other frequently suggested one is to change realms. But it's hard
to know where is better - and as a newbie, not only is it harder to do
this, but you're unlikely even to be aware of the vastly different
experiences you might find in other realms. And each change puts you
back at square one of networking and getting to know your realm.
