Well, I know the code tries to take starvation in poor food regions
into account. I think those penalties should be increased...when I
witnessed them it would like 2 soldiers to be wounded, who would get
healed the next day, big whoop. Food should take time to gather, kind
of like hunting. Actually, it would be need if not only did nobles
have to carry around gold to pay their men but food also...so they
could 'loot' food like we loot gold when the unit requires it.
Not only that, but large armies also suffered from disease. Let's
make badlands be really badlands, and the more troops there, the
higher chance of a sickness afflicting them. An army of 1000 men
shouldn't sit comfortably in a swamp. In medieval times disease
killed far more than battle.
Perhaps that would improve splitting strategies.
