Yes, it sounds ok, though foreign. If this isn't the only
spanish-based name in the family, it can be right. A Spanish medieval
family... I wouldn't ban this character, though I wouldn't pick the
word myself for a name. In Portuguese we have a lot of family names
that are names of cultures: Laranjeira (orange tree), Oliveira (olive
tree), Carvalho (oak tree), Pinheiros (pine trees), etc. The name
Olive is also a word and it is still a name. Marta is the name of an
animal, but very used for people. Not to mention, Petra (rock), Alva
(white), and others. I don't know how common is the name Naranjo in
any spanish speaking country, but it sounded fine enough for me.
