Part of the *point* of an infiltrator used to be that you could force them to change rulers or generals in the middle of a war.  If the King can be stabbed in the gut with a poisoned dagger, and be back up on his feet and running things just as well as before in less than a week, *something* is clearly wrong.

Having their realm destroyed just because the other realm had more people and was more ruthless doesn't usually go over too well with people, either, but I don't see how it's reasonable to demand that that not happen.  From where I sit, this is about the *weakest* argument in favour of keeping Kings from losing their positions.
