That they were, but they are nowhere near as involved as nobles.  With
adventurers its just move here, hunt monsters, gather items, and rest.  With
nobles you have all the politics, religion, and other discussion, not to
mention the strategy, tactics, and battles.  I love all three of my
characters, and could never see one of them go for an adventurer.

I'd say they are.  I played an advy for 6 months and never came close to
one.  Only ran into sages twice as well.
