Just because the same name is used does not mean they come from the same
place. I thought that realm on Atamara, (what is it? Minis Ithil I think?
Can't rmeember) has a lot of vikings.

A lot of peoples who moved into Europe came from Asia, and their tribal
names became the names of many places around Europe (England, France,
Germany, etc). The turks did not come from Turkey either.

But I do get your point, it's too late to change the vikings, but I do feel
that a lot of culture is missing.

It's too bad the mesoamerican realm(s) idea isn't happening anymore (that I
know of).
