Aiai.
This Dominic and all the thread splitting... :)
I found the original thread now, read it all, and to sum up a bit:
1. I like advies turning nobles. It is good family RP, makes for OOC
reasons if we are tired of playing advies and still want to play the
char... I would also rather see it turning into a regular noble, not a
hero, since it strikes me as weird that a commoner is suddenly famous
and admired all around the world.
2. One recommendation per item I think is very unbalanced for the
game. Perhaps one recommendation per noble/month? Increasing its price
can be done, no idea how this could make an actual difference.
3. I like the idea of simply choosing to make your advy noble (family
recognition). Perhaps with the right price (stats or maybe even family
fame) and requirements, it can be installed.
4. I really really enjoyed Timothy's system:

This has a few upsides that should be considered to include in any idea:
- Reasons for recommendations (great, the more chances we have to put
RP in game mechanics, I approve)
- Excellent reason to effectively contact knights and nobles, instead
of just "I have an item, do you want to buy it?".
- Gives the commoner in fact recognition, since there needs to be at
least 3 people, from different ranks, involved. I would guess, more.
This way, there should be more people knowing who that stranger is,
and why he was recognized as a noble.
Downside:
- People might get too exigent on the criteria to ennoble the advy.
"Oh, selling you an unique item isn't good enough to make you noble".
After all, if it was only RP... it actually isn't a very good reason,
is it?
- All in all, excellent.
