For the last 2 years, the "fun" of playing BattleMaster has hinged
entirely on the ability of the general to make demands? Huh...

If you figure that the "indians" are the troops in the field and not
the nobles, one guy running all that is pretty ridiculous. Also, Tom
has made it pretty clear this works better in large realms. In
Fontan, I've certainly seen that to be true. But it had to be
implemented at some point, so it was. Small realms can cope, too.
I'm in Outer Tilog, 31 people in the realm, total. How do we deal
with it? Everyone is in the same army, the general is the marshal.
Problem solved.

Well, that depends how you define quality. You seem to positively
correlate simplicity and quality. Perhaps a children's game would be
better for you, then?

Those marshals suck, and they will be replaced when your realm starts
to be destroyed because of it.

major military campaign coordinated at the same time - and the whole
thing is going to take >longer, there will be less troop cohesion, and

anymore.
GOOD! What the heck are you doing with 7 realms? Half the POINT of
this change was to take people who say things like "I'm trying to
micromanage 350 people and for some reason thats hard!" and shove
their heads down the toilet.
>Time is wasted and lost, the more levels of communication there are,
the more a message can change or be misunderstood, and the more people
that need to be active EVERY SINGLE TURN in order for a real and
cohesive campaign to work is just so overwhelming that it completely
screws up the basic functions of the game.
Woo, way to find another point of the change. It's not EASY to
coordinate a "real and cohesive" campaign. If you expect everyone to
move as a perfect mass, you move slowly. If you expect to move
quickly, be prepared to leave people behind. Thats reality, pal. 8
hour deployments might be something elite troops can handle these
days, but not so much in medieval times.
> I've been a general at least 5 times, including currently - and I am trying - really really trying, to try and like the new system - I REALLY am... I didn't like the new tax system when it was rolled out (and still am not in love with it) - but really quickly I realized it could and would work - it would just take a little "honeymoon" period to get everyone used to it.

Well, maybe its time for someone else to be general, someone who isn't
predisposed to the deprecated system.
> I don't know - I know I'm going on a lot here, but I really really really really really hate this change, and I think we really need to change back, or at least look at a different kind of change that might resolve the very drastic problems it has created.
Yeah, I noticed BattleMaster is absolutely FALLING APART. Oh wait, it
isn't. Thats only in your head.
