Ok Tom lets make sure in which Time period BM lies... I thought it was 
before the absolute French King time. I thought it was from 1000-1500 
??? if so then this is talking against itself.

If I am correct then on those times the nobles *were* ordered around as 
they were the "cannonfodder" they fought!!! Nobles were the men who had 
a sword. Peasants didnt have a right to carry a sword.
