Thats why I have a rule in my oath saying I only have to work 3 months 
for my liege by following his orders. If he assigns me to an army and 
says its time to work off those 3 months, then I'll listen to the 
marshall. But if my liege just assigns me to an army, without saying I'm 
working off those 3 months. Then I'll ignore that marshall whenever I want.
