heh... we belatedly discover that holding monthly elections when the
original choice (voted in prior to set up) can't even run for it due to
low prestige is a bad thing.

our realm hasn't taken over 1 single region yet and have a minor monster
problem in one of the starting regions already... with a chunk of the
army sailing off somewhere to hopefully TO a city...

did I mention the city gave my character 17 gold as tax whilst the non
city region has 6?... which is sort of fine... because there's nothing
to spend money on anyway (new character, new unit.. barely cost 10 gold
a week).. oh and most of us can't even send bonds to the lords to build
stuff.. (low prestige)

now imagine adding a few tens of immigrant characters.... with nowhere
to pledge to (lords need money to build stuff, you know).. all sitting
around in the city doing manual labour because there's no gold to be had.

at least new characters start with a unit. and then you get some nutter
going off looting a rogue region for tax gold instead of TOing it...

eh.. why? even if the realm is supposed to be about looting.. you would
think claiming a piece of unowned land that's rather friendly would make
more sense than grabbing the handful of gold. IC or OOC
