Because the game mechanics restrict you from doing so, and RPs cannot
contradict game mechanics.

This is the exact reason why you can't freely change the name of your realm
whenever you want, and that you can't freely change the name of your
character, your family, your guild, your religion, etc., why you can't just stop
being a hero whenever you feel like it once you have declared that you are one,
and why you can't just decalre your badlands region as it's own sovereign
realm: Game mechanics don't allow you to do so.

BattleMaster is not a free-for-all, where you can do whatever you want,
whenever you want, just because you feel like doing so. There is a defined set
of rules within which you must make your actions conform. As broad as this rule
set is, there are still times when it will conflict with what you may want to do.

We don't restrict RPs. Game mechanics restrict RPs. You can RP all you want
that the colony you formed from a Republic is really a Theocracy. But it won't
change the fact that your colony is still a Republic, and that you have to vote
every month on a new ruler.

The only one that can change this is Tom. He will eventually see your posts and
give the official ruling. I doubt that he will agree with you.

Thanks for the ad hominem insults. They really add to the appeal of your
argument.

You posted here asking a question, I gave you my opinion and explanation of
the situation. It just so happens that my opinion on this particular issue agrees
with the game mechanics. That's not always the case, but in this one it is.

There's no call for you to get all pissy with me for stating my opinion.

I also said that the "American Colony" was not a colony in the BattleMaster sense of the
word.

> Well you know, in BM a Colony can not secede,

Of course it can't. It's never truly a proper duchy of the parent realm. There's
nothing to secede from.

Compensated? For what? You make it sound like colonies are insufferably
handicapped because they can't choose their own form of government. You are
completely ignoring all the other benefits that CTOs have over secession.
