What are family for? Move somewhere that will appreciate, you, if such a 
place exists, or go one better, use family influence to grab a TO unit 
and start taking another city (establish a claim, get appointed, yada 
yada). Get your char to become a Duke, then go ahead and challenge the 
other one (as an equal now, not a perceived whining unaligned noble with 
an overinflated ego) for past insults, and you have a case.
