Yes yes yes, Agreed! (hence the name "letter" not "chat") :-)

And I'd add that it should be assumed that the letters that are received
are not necessarily received in the exact order they appear on the screen.

It really bugs me when you get letters that are:
o) devoid of a proper address to the person receiving the letter
o) continue on from a previous letter as you would with speech

eg

Letter from Sir Splodge:

Can someone tell me where I need to go to recruit more healers?

Sir Splodge (Knight of Splodgeville)

Letter from Duke Blob:

Try Blobville.

Duke Blob (Duke of Blobville)

In the context of letters, the first one should have been addressed to
something like "Nobles of the Realm" or "Members of the Guild" or
whatever message group it was sent to. And the second one should first
of all have been sent to "Sir Splodge" (assuming that all others got it
as a sort of medieval 'CC'), and should have referred back to the
question asked. "I believe you will find healers in Blobville."

And maybe, when we've cracked that little issue, we can make a start on
letters/reports that tell me I've done something that I've not done. I
got a letter the other day, for example, saying this:

Letter from Sir Glub:

Your men went hunting, and found 7 members of So-and-so's army, who
surrendered.

Sir Glub (Knight of Blobville)

[No they didn't! My men were sitting here playing Skat all day! I
never sent them hunting and they never did any.]

or

Report from Sir Flubble

You take up work and do some civil work in the region, bringing
production up to 54%.

Sir Flubble (Knight of Blobville)

[No I didn't! I'm a Cavalier - I certainly didn't waste my time doing
civil work. What a suggestion!]

I haven't quite got the heart, on Atamara particularly, to pick people
up for doing that awful copy-and-paste business. But if I was on
Dwilight, I'm sure that my character would have taken issue with people
for saying that he'd done things he'd not done... ;-)
