There is a jousting and sword skill so why not archery? In the medeival times, there were many archery tourneys. Look at Robin Hood. Only reason he was famous is because of his skill with the bow.

Robin Hood was a commoner. He gained a slight bit of fame from being a rebel leader against William the Conqueror. Archery tourneys did not happen among nobles and only among commoners.
