It's true that none of us can really "feel" what religion or, more to the
point any given fictional religion would mean to people who really believed
it. But that doesn't mean we should abandon religion. We all grew up in a
post-feudalism society (most of us anyway) too, but that doesn't mean we
should do away with that aspect of the game either.

Well, you might postulate that, but there will still be religions in the
game (they existed before the Priest game).
The whole thing needs some refinement, not elimination.
