Please don't decide that now, Tom--not while you're angry (deservedly
so) and seeing only the worst of this invasion.
Please, read the messages posted on the ruler channel of BT. Many of
them were in support of your handling of the invasion.
In particular, please read my last one. I think that it is vitally
important that you, your GMs, and the players of BT get together once
the invasion is finally over and *talk about it*. Not to place
blame, but to figure out, in a constructive manner, what people on
all sides did right, what we all did wrong, what was good, what was
bad, and what makes a good RPed long-term event in general--because
even if you really never do do another RPed invasion (which would
really disappoint me, as I, for one, had immensely more fun with this
than with the last invasion), I would hope that you will at least do
*some* further RPed events with us.
I do not believe that the invasion failed. I believe that many
people failed the invasion--they were too worried about themselves,
their realms; they were too busy IRL; they were too worried about
strategy; there are many reasons--but I do not believe that you and
the GMs failed to make the invasion interesting.
Yes, of course there were things that you could have done better;
you're not perfect, and this was the first time (to my knowledge)
that you've ever done anything like this on this scale. But that
doesn't mean you should just give up on the whole *idea* of it--it
just means you should work with us to find out what those mistakes
were, and correct them next time.
I am willing to put in the effort to fix this if you are.
