The peasants want peace. That way they can launch more conspiracies and
start say to their neighbours "We're living in a dictatorship! A
self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes..." ;-)

Nobles, on the other hand, don't want that to happen, so they invent
casus bellis and keep all the revolutionaries too busy to actually
overthrow their lazy backsides.

Which takes me back to the fact that there's been so much war there's
naught but a dozen peasants left, who've not been drafted, to even
complain. So, according to the coding of the game:

The Assassins, down to one region in a war with a realm 6 times their
size and wealth is not bad enough off. Instead they need to declare war
on another realm? So, let's see that would leave 2 other options which
are realms even bigger and stronger then the one realm the Assassins are
already at war with. Yeah, that's just brilliant. I understand that
the east island was sitting there doing nothing and something had to be
done but there were some far reaching implications of that code change
that have lead to a ridiculous situation in the colonies. Oh wait, let
me rally up all 4k of troops that are being paid for by family gold,
because the realm's income is 2 gold per tax day, and go start another
war that will be even more lopsided. It's a joke that I am being forced
to declare war on another front when the war I've already got on my
hands is destroying the realm.
