Only if, in return, there's a chance that they can be found out, and 
shamed to the whole realm.  Otherwise they'll bribe every time.  Rulers 
are quite capable of having extra gold for that - they'll just not give 
so much out to new knights and use it for that instead, so bribing would 
be done as a matter of course.
