If a commoner works for a duke (or judge, for example) would they count 
as the property of the said noble?

if the said property is damaged by another noble (locked up, etc).. 
would it make sense for the judge to fine the noble.... money doesn't go 
to commoner as restitution or anything like that... but as compensation 
to the "owner" of the property?
