the contents far and wide. The physical piece of paper part is less
important that the idea that it's a message delivered from somewhere
else. Maybe by word of mouth, maybe by having it posted on a local
bulletin or shouted by the town crier.

  In any case, if a player wants a message to be private, it can be
sent directly. Sending it publically, without some form of disclaimer,
is inviting other players to assume that they can make up a reason to
have heard it.
