I certainly don't know if it's a majority, but in both Eston, Atamara
and Ibladesh, East Continent, people are fined for arresting adventurers
without just cause. In Eston, part of the fine is supposed to go to
restitution of the adventurer (1 gold per day in jail).

I cannot tell you how offensive my characters found this, and they
cerainly weren't alone. Lately, when I see a report about police work
done in which 'suspicious peasants' are arrested, I like to request that
the justification be provided. :-)

Actually it was the people of Eston who decided that, not the judge (me). I
just wanted a noble fined 10 gold for wasting my time by arresting an
adventure and not bother telling me why (I also wanted them to take care of
it themselves if offended by beating them up, once again it is a waste of
the judge's time to have to deal with a commoner), I would just keep the
gold myself. But hey you guys elected the people into the council of knights
not me.

Also what does it matter, this is a low fantasy game, why can't we have
realms where adventures are treated nice and maybe even *gasp* have a few
rights, I'm not saying I want this in my realm, but we get so stuck on BM
being a medieval game that we sometimes forget the fantasy part. If a realm
wants to go that route let them, its no big deal. Besides IC maybe
adventures are commoners but ooc they are to valuable to waste, Eston only
has a handful of them. Commoners mean they are quite common, but this
doesn't refer to adventurers.
