Because the Bastard of nobles did come into power. I believe William the 
Conqueror was a Bastard and become King of England.

As for the second I'd personally like seeing adventurers in realms. Just 
have them as Rogue, because being in a realm for them doesn't seem to 
have a purpose to me.
