[Discuss] Adventurers buying things

Okay, maybe I'm just a bit slow but is there no way for an adventurer to
sell common items to other adventures?  My adventurer spends his time
hunting and not gathering and so he have nothing to exchange with the
guy that has an item he needs, but he has gold that could be used to buy
it outright.  Am I missing something?  If not this seems a bit lame...
