[Discuss] Options to punish adventurers

There's been a lot of talk on how an adventurer rights, such as from the
wiki:

#  If a noble wounded or killed a commoner, he might be liable for
damages to the commoner's lord, but never to the commoner.
# Commoners could be killed on the spot for the smallest crimes against
their lord.

Why don't our adventurers have a "sponsor" lord, the region they are
from initially, then any repercussions for wounding/killing an
adventurer would be in the form of paying that lord compensation.

That would give a reason for not arbitrarily punishing an adventurer.

That seems like a reasonable thing.  After all, commoners are the
workers' of the world and if you kill off a worker that has a direct
impact upon the output and production of a region.  Granted, we're not
actually working the land of a certain region but I still like the idea.
