I'm not asking for a permanent ruling on what RP is better, I'm
asking if the RP needs to be explicit, or if, as Karl Greenley is
saying, we are forced to assume the best possible RP for the situation.
That's a game rule, not an RP ruling--and, frankly, it doesn't need
to be of the form, "In every possible situation, this is the rule,"
only "Generally, you should follow the guideline that...".
From what you say here, it *sounds* like you would say that the RP
should be explicit, but we've all gotten burned by misinterpreting
your vague statements before.
