I guess the question I'd want to answer is "are mentors there for characters
who are already in the game, or for new players?"
If they're there for new players, then any perk you get from being a mentor
is just a bonus and we should be making decisions based on what new players
need.
If they're there for our existing characters to try something different
(primarily), then I agree with you, and they should be kept the same.
I feel like mentors should benefit new players first and existing players
second -- and so the pool of available mentors SHOULD be larger (though,
when choosing a mentor, you should be able to see things like how long
they've been in the game, perhaps # of medals, or some other indication as a
newbie that might help you pick a mentor).
Still, all good points.
